HUNGERFORD ROAD

NORTH LONDON

Client: Private

Hungerford Road is the retrofit of a semi-detached North London villa, reworking a compromised plan into a sequence of generous, light-filled spaces. A double side and rear extension unlocks the full width of the house, creating a kitchen and living space that open directly onto the garden, with clerestory glazing and a carefully modelled ceiling bringing daylight deep into the plan.

We work with the existing fabric, strengthening and upgrading it rather than starting again – exposing structure where it adds character, tightening up thermal performance, and threading in new joinery, storage and lighting. The result is a quietly contemporary family house that feels calm, warm and robust, while still very much belonging to its original villa.

Modern kitchen with a large marble island, three white bar stools, open shelves, and a view of an outdoor patio with chairs and plants through a glass wall.
