This self-built garden studio was designed to sit seamlessly at the end of a garden, offering a solution for a growing family in need of extra space. Constructed with Douglas Fir, both the roof and facade complement the surrounding environment. Inside, the walls are rendered with exposed lime plaster, creating a calm and warming atmosphere.

The lower level of the interior wall is clad with plywood, providing a sturdy foundation for everyday activities. The floor continues this robust palette of materials through the use of micro-cement. the surface of the floor is polished to create a play between light (reflection) and texture. Outside, a pergola extends from the studio, enveloped by vines and evergreen jasmine, offering respite from the sun's rays and creating a tranquil space within the garden.

The unit was built out of sustainably sourced timber. Its high thermal and air-tight performance ensures comfortable usability throughout all seasons, making it an ideal space for year-round activities. Additionally, the EPDM roof not only offers durability and longevity but also proves to be a cost-effective solution for the roof. To further enhance the unit's functionality and appeal, bespoke doors and windows were designed.
